Know Me
I used to hate Shakespeare, so it’s a bit ironic that a little black girl from Kentucky, turned into a
Broadsword Wielding-Elizabethan Dancing- Classical Actor.
I’ve dedicated my life to this work, and so far I have an MFA from The Academy of Classical Acting, performed over 35 Shakespearean roles (and counting), and was the first black woman to perform at Island Shakespeare Festival.
Outside of acting, I teach Shakespeare and theatre to early to mid career artists, start DIY projects and sometimes finish them, or I’m glued to the TV watching re-runs of The Office!

“Brown as Cassio in Othello and the next day as Marianne in Sense & Sensibility; knocking both the warrior and the romantic out of the park...”
ANN MEDLOCK

”..Brown, as a female Jaques, gives a magnetic performance. She portrays the many contradictions in Jaques’ character with unusual honesty and brisk humor.”
